Gillette case to razor ID and blade case ID help needed

As before, I'm turning to my friends on here to help me decipher what I now own. I bought both items recently and need some help to figure out what came in the case, and what case the sandwich style blade case came from. The wood case was shipped to me with a fat handle tech in it with no blades or blade case. The razor fits nicely with the case, but I'm not convinced the razor is the one that goes with the case. The case also has a dot pattern around the edge that my other Gillette wood cased sets doesnt have. PICS HERE Guesses?


The second item is a blade case that is the sandwich style and has the Gillette logo across the top. The is also made In Canada. This sandwich style is my second with a completely smooth finish unlinke most others I have with the fancy work stamped into them. I have a couple questions about the cases. Does anyone know what this would have came in, and does anyone else have smooth ones from GIllette and what sets did they come in?

I have never seen this one before, it has to be from a Canadian set.

The case you've got there looks like the same kind that I wrote about here in this thread. I don't believe that that particular razor was a proper match to the case (I'd expect it to be gold rather than nickel), but I'd say that the case is certainly more right for the Old Type era than the Tech era.

I've also got a set with one of those same unusual Canadian blade cases that I'll have to try to find for you when I get back home this evening. Just working from memory I believe it was a Canadian Old Type set, but I'm not 100% sure of that.

I remember that thread, with the unsecured/padded shipping..............the case does look like this one though.
