Gillette Aristocrat / first experience

Just took my first shave with my Aristocrat and must say it ranks as one of the best shaves I have had in my short 90 day return to DE. I bought it on Ebay for $7 and was not sure what to expect. More plate loss than the pictures exposed but local jeweler did a $12 plate job and it looks pretty good. Did not have plans to use it but there it sat in the case asking for one run around my face.

Israeli platinum, TOBS sandalwood creme and the Aristocrat went to work. Very nice close shave. No nicks, cuts. Nothing but just smooth un-rashed skin.

Curious what results anyone else has experienced with the Aristocrat?

I have a 1946-47 Aristocrat and I use Astra Superior Platinum blades in it. I am in love with this combination it is the smoothest shave I have ever had. I have shaved 3 days now with the same blade, WTG.. ATG ... face and head all 3 times I got a BBS shave each and every time

I should add that this is not my first experience shaving with it... but it is my first experience shaving with this combination and I cant say enough about it.

I got an aristocrat on Monday. I have shaved 2 days with it using a red IP blade with the same result as yours. I had irritation on right side of my neck, but having used this setup for the last 2 days, it is pretty well cleared up. Feel great, It's an excellent razor.

The Aristocrat is well named. It gives a high quality shave.

I am using my 1948-50 Aristocrat this week (with an Astra Superior Platinum) and it is a mighty fine shave!
