GILETTE 7 o Clocks need advice pls

Hello Gents:

I have a friend of mine who is in India at the moment I requested him to bring me a handful of the Gillette 7 o clock blades. I've asked for all 3 the Green Yellow and BLACK / Platinum. My question to you is out of the 3 which ones are the most sharpest. I have read the reviews on all 3 but if anyone has experienced using all 3 if u can assist me so i can ask him to bring about 100 blades on his way backk

much appreicated

Ken

Mmm, that's a tough one. I tried the Green from India, never had the black and the rest was from Russia. All I will say is that Green from India was not that great. It was all right but no more.

I've only tried the Russian made green. I've seen the black but stayed away from it after reading the reviews. I hear that the yellows (Russian made again) are the best. The Russian Greens are meh...

I have tried all three and IMHO the Gillette SharpEdge (Yellows) are the best of the bunch.

Yellows
Blacks
Greens

In that order. Yellows are smoother and last the longest of the bunch a well. They are Russian made, so your friend will probably find the green and black easier to find and cheaper as well.

I am in India. Ask him to buy the following order of sharpness

1) 7OC Super Platinum (black) As sharp as a feather (for 4-5 shaves)
2) 7OC Permasharp (Green) good sharp blade (3-4 Shaves)
3) Gillette Wilkinson Premium Plus (Chromium plated) Sharp and very smooth shaves - can say "Derby's of India". ( 3 shaves)
4) Gillette Wilkinson Stainless (normal uncoated 2-3 shaves)

Yellows are russian and not available in India.

Non Gillette

1) Supermax super platinum (Sharp and smooth around 3-4 shaves)

My personal favs are the blacks, Wilkinson premium plus and the supermax super platinum
If he can't get any of these - ask him to get in touch with me if he is in Mumbai ;)

I agree. I would also concur that the Blacks are as sharp as Feathers. I find the yellows sharp but smoother & deliver smoothness with less nicks. The greens are good too. I would compare them to red personnas. You could pair the greens with alot of different razors to deliver a nice smooth easy nick free shave. So both the yellow & greens are a cant miss IMO for a great 1-2 blade selection.
Good Luck :001_smile

From prices that I've seen from Indian sellers on the bay from time to time, you might be able to really stock up, give everyone here a good deal, turn a profit, and still be set for a year or so.

Also, have your friend stock you up on tubed Gillette, Godrej, and Old Spice creams.
Just an idea.

As much as i would like to get my hands on all the goodies India has to offer my dear friend is on a tight budget however i will be making a trip to india soon so wen im there hopefully i can get enough for myself and others on here as well..

The green pack and yellow pack Gillette's I use are not made in India. They are made in Russia.

The Yellow and Green Sharp Edge are St. Petersburgh plant in Russia

Green Permasharp are made in the India Bhiwadi plant along with blacks and the wilkinsons I mentioned.

I would recommend heavy buys as the wilkinsons and Supermax platinum are available for 4$ for 100 blades locally in India.

The blacks are almost a dollar (slightly less) for a pack of 5 + 2 free blades
The greens are a dollar for 2 packs of 10 blades.

The wilkinsons will also be around 4-5$ for 100.

All are in packs of 5 only and usually with a +1, +2 free blade offers
