Blade recommendations for R41 as a daily driver

Thanks guys - I have bought several sample packs already and am slowly working my way through them. The purpose of this thread was to seek recommendations from other R41 users on their preferences so that I start with those ones as I work my way through. I know that YMMV and it's dependent on a lot of variables. I love the Feather in the 34C, I can't use it in the R41 (although to be fair I haven't tried 3+ days growth). Similarly, the Bic is my favourite blade for 2-3 days but Voshkod is so far my preference for shorter durations...I'll keep trying blades, I'm just starting with your favourites!

Oh, and now I have the Henson +++ to try as well...

About 30 minutes ago shark super chrome close comfortable shave. Last night pol silver same as today close comfortable shave, I have also used feather, derby, wilkinson sword from Germany and vintage Wilkinson Sword from England all good shaves in the r41,hope this helps and good luck I am sure you will find a blade that works.

Thanks mate, it's all good info for trying new blades - I think today I'm going to go with a Bic in the R41 with 72hrs of growth - I just need a decent shave after this week's experimentation. I will resume testing this coming week. I don't have any vintage blades, but I might throw in a Derby green and try it. I found previously that I never really minded that blade in the 34C, so maybe it'll work in the R41 for me...

strange! I love 7 o’clock yellow! Mind you i don’t have said razor, however I hope it’s ok to still suggest a few? Have you tried either/or/both the Gillette 7 oclock green blades? I have the India version and they are decent. I shall try the Russian version some day.

I have green ones - I just checked and they're Russian. I'll give them a go at some point (I have about 25 different blades to get through)...Today I'm going to go with something I don't use for daily's...Maybe a Nacet or Astra - they're both "open" and have a couple of shaves on them...

Astra SP was surprisingly good, Perma-Sharp in the gold/red pack was somewhat better. Blades don't seem to last as many shave in the R41 for whatever reason.

The R41 did not seem all that picky about blades, though, just something on the sharper and smoother side.

I've taken to bining blades generally after two shaves, except Bics, Nacets and Gillette Blacks where I'll go three...

I have yet to try my Perm-Sharp. I don't mind Astra, but prefer Bics to them. Tonight I used a Muhle and decided that while it's okay, it gives me some irritation and weeping, so I've found better. I'll use them eventually and not replace them...

I enjoy Perma Sharp and the Platinum blades in the light blue box with white letters. They work well in the R41. Lately I have been using the newer King C Gillette blades from China in a lot of razors and comparing it to my regular rotation blades. They are sharp and smooth. Middle of the road blades for me. Like the Astra SP. These Chinese KCGs work really well in the R41. But it should be noted that I use a SLOC top cap with my R41 which smooths things out tremendously, and mitigates all of the blade chatter experienced with the stock cap.
