Gem OC MicroMatic - First shave

Before the blade even touched my face, my skin was :yikes:.

First contact felt like :behead:

End result was :death:
with my Pinaud Clubman giving me an extra special :bayrum2:.

The whole affair leaves me wondering if I am a little :letterk1: for the attempt.

Kent,
I had a crap first shave with my Gem OCMM too but believe me when I say, I'm over the moon on my second shave with it. In fact, I waited a solid week before giving it another go. Watch the videos on YouTube and get back in the batter's box for another swing. These guys know that stuff in here.

Kent,

I've shaved with my OCMM about 10 times and I've felt just like you every single time. The razor is so solid and nice looking that I want it to work well, so I keep trying it every now and again. I must be a little :letterk1: too!

Gene, good advice. I'll check out the videos as well.

Once you figure out the proper blade angle, you will have outstanding shaves. I haven't picked up a DE in almost two months. I've been using SEs and injectors because I find they shave much more efficiently. Good luck and keep at it. You won't be disappointed.

I told you it is one of the all time greats... I think the big mistake a lot of guys make is more angle than pressure related with this thing.

The head of razor is supposed to almost be touching your face. Give that a try without too much pressure and see how it goes.

This was my initial mistake with all SE razors. Pressed too hard and it ate my face off. MMOC is probably my favorite single edge razor but I don't want to oversell it. Sometimes a razor just doesn't work for your beard/style.

That razor, like to R.41, is not meant for everyone. I don't get cuts and nicks from it but I also do not get the smoothest shave, either. As the beav said above, the shaving angle when using this razor is critical.
