Garrys sample cream lathering recommendation?

Hello. I received some great samples that are all shaving creams. I generally face lather and just lather on top of the cream. The samples are too small for this and i was wondering the best way to get the most/best use of samples? Any great recommendations?

Scoop out some cream and spread it on the top of your brush. You should be able to face lather with it like that, no?

I can't see how the samples are too small for face lathering.
just put it on the top of the brush and it should be fine.

My first shave cream came in a jar, and I was nonplussed when I bought some in a tube, but whatever brand it was, said spread a small amount on your jaws and then swirl your wet brush right there, so I tried that, and it worked just fine, although I occasionally would put a dab into a bowl or mug to start. I just used ordinary cereal bowls, nothing special. Other than havng acquired a designated plastic bowl that will not break so easily, I hope, I'm still using cream in tubes the same way, 50-plus years later.

If one of his samples is Castle Forbes, I can see the problem. That one would be tough to dab onto his brush since it's so hard. I had trouble with my sample of that even lathering in a bowl. For the harder samples, someone suggested to me that I smear it around like I was greasing the bowl with butter. Not sure how that would work for a face latherer. There may be some of the harder samples from Garry where you have to resort to using a bowl or mug.
