Frederick Reynolds "Old English Razor" help

$image.jpg$image.jpg
Recently I purchased my first straight edge razor and I was wondering if anyone has information on approximate year/decade, quality, history of Frederick Reynolds, value, etc. From what I could gather, it looks pre-1890 and is a respectable brand. If anyone could give me some info/advice, I would appreciate it!

I'm by no means an expert on straight razors. But Certainly Reynolds is a known name to me and Sheffield steel is synonymous with quality. Obviously I'm biased being English (and from the North), but it's reputation is every bit as good as Solingen steel. Unfortunately the industry was decimated in the 80's and is a pale shadow of what it once was.

I think you've got a good one!

Cheers

If a razor does not list the County of Origin, then you can assume the razor was made before the McKinley Tariff of 1890.
Based on the shape of the tail, I would say more like 1850-1890.
