Fougere?

I need a list of all the fougere scented creams/soaps please!
I've got the QCS cream with tallow in fougere and can't get enough of the stuff. I want to try others too.
No need to mention the MDC, probably not looking in that price range. I've heard that TOBS Jermyn street is a fougere like scent?

I'd classify my sample of QCS fougere as spicy.
Since you ask we not mention it...I prefer MdC's take on fougere; MdC is more woodsy and floral to my nose -- more "fern-like."

if you are including soaps, perhaps English Fern and Creed GIT. Fitjars has a norwegian fern. all those are in same price range at mdc, but difference is probably less than a couple lunches at tim's.

I don't understand Fougére as a specific scent. I thought it was a category. Luca Turin calls it a "...genre based on the original Fougére Royale."

You are correct that it is a category of scent. There are certain notes that are usually included in this type of scent. But there are many fragrances that can be described as fougere.

TOBS Jermyn Street is a very popular mid priced fougere scented cream or soap - and if you read the reviews you'll see lots of people really like its performance.

For starters, Turin says, "...Fougere Royale, an abstract composition of lavender, oakmoss, and the tobacco-hay note of coumarin."

Example (Turin, The Little Book of Perfumes), "...its apex was reached by the aromatic fougeres of the late 1970s. Some, I among them, believe that the finest aromatic ever was Azzaro Pour Homme.""

SO we need a list of everything!!

It's one of my favorites, although NY Times Perfume Critic (former) Chandler Burr doesn't think so much of it.

An exhaustive list of fougere would take forever. Any of the tobs varieties named after something could be fougere, many of the penhaligons even though they have a specific fern, floris, gft so on and so forth. Fougere depending on how you view it can be a huge percentage of products.

All those have soaps and/or creams. Although it seems like you're looking for value, in that case QCS Fougere wins that for me by a wide margin. If valobra is coming out with one as rumored I'm all over that.

i openly admit, i do not have a good sense of smell but its all i got
i've seen fougere mentioned many times and wondered what it was like
my only exposure to the scent was QCS' while i was trying to sample many scents at MenEssentials [must resist]
i got a blast of cinnamon followed by ... cookies?
cinnamon or cloves, they are similar to me
not for me
good to know there are other fougeres out there i need to sniff my next trip to MenEssentials [must resist]

The problem in looking for a fougere cream is that fragrances are usually more complex than soaps and creams. So one shouldn't expect to find all, or even most, of those notes in a soap or cream. But one that might qualify is Harris Arlington for the fern component in the scent.

I love the LA Shaving Soap fougere. I got mine yesterday and only got 1 shave with it, too tired for a shave today. The soap was incredibly slick and lathered easily, and it smelled amazing. I wish I could describe it better, but it was just a very nice "green" smell. Not so much floral, but very fresh green plant like, if that makes any sense.

IMightBeWrong

Loves a smelly brush
I have a puck of Jermyn Street that I've barely touched. It doesn't smell like much in my opinion and the lather is just okay for me.

Al's Sapone da Barba Fougere About It is the best fougère that I have used, and I'm a big fourgère fan.
