You can kinda see the "cement" that is holding the fossils together at some angles its light, others its dark. It is actually near mirror.
Sorry for the bad light, could have waited till tomorrow, but wanted to share!

Holy cow that is awesome. More inspiration to keep working at blades...

is that a slight smile I see? I love smiles

It should be called Shattered Glass. Really love that pattern.

Before I hire an international team to seek out and abduct the blade, can you tell us how difficult it is to hone?

Thanks guys! Still learning, getting better slowly I think...

?
In what regard? Hardness or profile?

Steel wise its at HRC 61, so on the stones it would respond like most razors I expect. It hasn't yet been honed.

Profile wise, The spine is parallel the whole length, blade has a slight smile, I wouldn't think it would be difficult...

Outstanding!

A new damascus pattern I have never seen on a razor before.

I'm signing up to lead Oakeshott's team of Ninga commandos....

Craig,
Unfortunately, ninja commandos will stand out in Canada and we'll lose the advantage of stealth. We need these guys:

Bear will never see 'em coming. He'll think they're delivering milk or coming to collect the maple syrup or just quartering a freshly killed moose in his yard. While he's distracted, one of these guys will sneak in on cat's feet, pocket the fossil damascus blade and sneak out leaving no trace of having been there but two cords of newly cut wood.

I still want in on The Team. He'll never suspect a group of bearded guys are there to steal his razors!

Never see 'em coming? Did they leave? Heck we just had a beer and sighted in my rifle! Now I gotta go find 'em ...

the moose? Already in the freezer. Skinned it and quartered it with a truck axle we hammered flat and honed on a rock.

thanks for the chord wood though! ;)

AND........ complete!

I used a new carbon fiber that is woven with copper mesh to protect modern fighter aircraft from lightning strikes. A file worked nickel-silver wedge with nickel silver pins and stainless washers.

Incase you missed it in the earlier photos, there is a bronze bushing in the pivot hole. I also installed pivot washers.

Hope you like it!!!

OH MAN, you're really NOT helping me fight off my desire for a straight! That razor looks like it means business! If you're concerned about it's safety with the International Ninja Commando Team coming to take it, I'd be happy to keep it safe and warm in Florida.
