First shot at T&H West India Lime

I really want to like this cream but I seem to not get the right consistency on the lather. All the rest including williams shave soap work fine for me but the T&H seemed to be a little thin once I started on my face. Do I need to try more cream? I used about the same as I do with TOBS and it certainly created a lot of whipped cream lather it just didn't seem to have the "slickness".

I can't get passed the scent myself, YMMV. It smells too medicinal or something. I've not been a fan of T&H's creams (except 1805). If you want a fantastic lime scented cream, you can't go wrong with JM Fraser. Not only is it better, you get a ton of it for a fraction of the cost.

I have to agree here too. I adore T & H products but cannot force myself to like this Lime. I prefer Trumpers lime. The consistancy of the T & H is wonderful but that smell: Yuk.

On the other hand, I like very much the cologne and aftershave balm.

I haven't had good luck with this cream, either. Mainly, it's the smell. I love the scent of the T&H Limes cologne, and the AS balm and bath soap match it perfectly. The cream comes up short in terms of scent for some reason, lacking the zesty top notes of the cologne. Also, I got what I think was an "off" pot, quite a bit goopier than the standard, margarine-like consistency of most T&H tubs. Having said that, it still lathered pretty well, if memory serves. Generally, I get great results with T&H creams, and I don't recall this one being any less good.* Unfortunately, my memory is more fixated on the scent than the performance. If you like the scent and want to make the cream work for you, keep playing around with proportions - you should get it eventually.

*My observations are based on results I get with a face lathering technique. I can't comment on how T&H performs when lathering with a bowl.

I agree about the cologne. It's a fantastic fragrance, but unfortunately it suffers the same fate most Lime based colognes/aftershaves do....the scent doesn't last long. I would pick up some, but the price is WAY too much.

i've found that with the T&H stuff just use a tad more cream then you think you'd need. then you'll get a thicker heavier cream. i have the T&H lime in a travel tub and i love it. as soon as i finish my proraso that is next!

THIRD TIMES THE CHARM. Finally I see what everyone likes about the T&H cream. I was just using up the last little bit of the sample this time I shook my brush out a couple of more times and mix it in the bowl dry and POOF! really nice creamy lather. It was at least as good as the TOBS that I have. Now I definitely have to buy some so I can perfect my technique. I do notice that the scent wears off quickly though. I am using the ASB with it. Is there a Lime Splash that goes well with this cream?

I've tried a bunch of the T&H creams --- via their generous sampler. None seemed to lather differently. I liked the lime....but really prefer the scent of 1805.

yes, all T& H creams are excellent. I don't like their limes, though, because it smells like pledge to me.

As with all products, there are certain cases where ingredients can alter how you normally mix them up. My tube of Speick requires 2 times the amount of product to get the same amount of lather I normally get with Proraso.
