Well I decided to try my hand at a rudimentary set of scales. Horn interior with Ivory on the outside. I learned a lot. Namely, that was more of a Pain than it was worth. Most troublesome lesson was learning that my waterproof all surface adhesive doesn't bind horn to ivory very well. I switched to superglue and all went well. I also got a lot of practice peening with fragile materials once I noticed my usual method cracked the super-thin ivory I had. The next set I make will be a proper shape rather than just straight, this was basically a very basic intro. It could use a good bit more polishing, but they're assembled enough for use at the moment.
