First Restores

First, a big THANK YOU to all who have posted to this restoration thread and shared their tips on restorations. An especially big thanks to all who shared what they did wrong. You certainly saved me from some similar mistakes. This has been a very fun learning experience and continues to be so. Thank you, everyone, for being so generous with your advice and pics.

These are L to R:

Century Chocolate Butterscotch 16mm x 47mm
Fuller Black & Butterscotch 22mm x 50mm
Burma Shave version of Ever Ready C-40 22mm x 50mm
Sanax Black & Butterscotch 22mm x 50mm
Made Rite Butterscotch 20mm x 48mm

All have TGN Finest F-2 knots, except the Century. It has a a plain Finest.

That Sanax is my favorite, but they all look great. How would you compare the F2 to the standard?
 
I think that the Sanax is my favorite also. The F2, I think is a fantastic knot, especially at its price point. I was very surprised at how good it is. Nice soft tips, good backbone and flow through. It has a great bulb shape like my Simpsons 2-bands. I wish it were a tad more dense. But for the price, I was very impressed.
 
Your "Chocolate Butterscotch" has caught my attention. It looks close the the color of my "Burgundy" Whipped Dog handle. Since I see very little if any red in mine, your name of "Chocolate Butterscotch" may better identify it. It is a very regal color no matter what it is called.
