First Restore: Ever-Ready Badger-lon

Hi everyone, not only is this my first restore but also my first post on here.

I'm only 19 years old and got into traditional wet shaving last year, this brush was given to me while i was first asking my older relatives if they had any old razors laying around. I was at my grandparents asking my grandfather when my grandmother actually came over saying she thought she still had HER fathers old brush laying around. So I ended up leaving there with my great-grandfathers brush. Win.

Let me know what you think. Done with a TGN 20mm Finest Fan, loft hasn't been measured just kinda eyeballed it so it looked similar to my Rooney 1/1

sorry about the iphone pictures, really need a good camera

Very cool! I've had the honor of having some nice hardware come my way from family members. Great in so many ways.

How cool it is that you have your great grandfather's brush??? That's awesome, and you did a great job. My grandparents were gone before I started wet shaving, and my parents are too modern despite being in their seventies.

Thanks guys, it really is awesome using something that was passed down through my family. Best part is, at least to me, it is one of the better looking handles from a vintage brush. I've seen a bunch of brushes at the local antique shops but nothing that really catches my eye.

Nice job and welcome to the forum. I am working on my first brush restoration and I am hoping mine looks as good as yours. Great job!!

Way to go-- you've got yourself an extra special brush there. Good choice on the knot, and your restoration looks great!

Your brush has an interesting handle. The lettering, particularly the Badger-lon script, appears to be in great condition. And I don't recall having run across an Ever-Ready with a combination badger and Nylon knot. I have three Ever-Ready 300s in the queue for restoration, two are boars and one is Nylon.

Great job looks amazing. I have a 500BN I want to get done before the end of the year. How do you like the Finest fan knot?
