...You may wish to try cropping it to eliminate the vertical line on the right, this would make the knot-hole just off centre, and to my mind, perhaps even more interesting. You may well find yourself even more pleased with what is already a very good composition.

I may do that. I haven't had a lot of time to mess any of my pics yet, but I've got a few vacation days coming up where I plan to do so. I've also considered revisiting the knothole and taking some night time shots.
