First large brush

Bought my first really large knotted brush from Tiago Basilio about a week ago and here it is today! It's gone through a few owners already. It's a Shavemac 410 and the specs are:

Overall brush height: 120mm
Handle height: 54mm
Brush loft: 66mm
Knot diameter: 28mm

I tell you, this thing is massive! Very soft on the hand and surprisingly it does have good backbone! Much better than I was expecting at it's loft! Going to give it a good cleaning first before I use it, but I'm looking forward to it! Should answer some questions I've had about a few other brushes... :001_rolle

Man, thats one big brush. As someone who likes a smaller brush, I'd like to know how it works for you. Please post your results/impressions of the brush. I thought my 23mm was big. :001_rolle

Save yourself the trouble of getting lather in your ears.Best just send it to me my ear hair needs a trim once in a while.

Might have no need to mail the brush. Might have an air mail delivery of lather to everyone within a 1000 mile radius of my home when I begin to lather up.

Just realized that I had no stand that could fit this monster! Had to take one of my old acrylic stands I got awhile back and file it down on the sides so I could have a stand for it! Now to clean it and I'll get to a shave a little later tonight!

I've been looking for a brush that could give me that banana cream pie in the face look. You have found it!

Yes, indeed I have found it! Man... Gobs and gobs of lather! A bit different holding such a bulky brush, and heavy with the water and cream.

I decided to use:

La Toja Sensitive shaving cream (I believe La Toja is what the brush was last lathered with, smelled quite the same!)
Merkur 34C
Lord Platinum blade
2x size DB Scuttle
Aqua Velva Musk aftershave
And of course... the new brush!

I'd describe the lather pretty much like a banana cream pie to the face, just maybe a touch lighter, but still awesome! I think that another large brush will have to be in order down the road...:w00t:

I don't usually take photos too much during my shave, but I thought this time I would. Here's a pic of me holding the brush just before shaving, and also in the scuttle before shaving. Very rich and moist lather! :w00t:

Nothing like a large brush huh , I have a rooney heritage horn and I love it! The larger brushes also retain more heat. Did you happen to notice that with yours?

Yes, I did notice that Ambrose. Usually the brushes I use don't keep the heat in them too long, but this lasted much much longer.

The original owner was blaireau, the second owner was 1969Fatboy, the third owner was Tiago Basilio, and now she belongs to me!
