First DE Shave Success!

Finally got my EJ 89BA11 from West Coast Shaving! Took FOREVER :) (3 whole days to get to NJ with basic shipping)! It felt like Christmas coming home knowing the package was sitting on my counter, and then having to wait until the next morning to shave was pretty rough. Anyways, I was shaving over confirmed brush burn so I didn't have my hopes too high. After everything I read on here it went incredibly smooth, definitely have a lot to work still to do on my technique though. I caught myself on my neck where it was already irritated, but other than that it was the smoothest and closest shave of my life. Next purchase - brush that's softer than a Tweezerman and doesn't destroy my face!

Thanks for all the advice guys, I hope to continue to have shaves that are satisfying!

Congratulations! you are well on your way, technique won't take that long, I can relate to waiting for some thing to arrive, like Christmas and the postman in Santa Claus!

I was in the same boat with you as far as the Tweezerman goes. I liked face lathering more than bowl lathering but I would get brush burn occasionally. If you are up for it I would suggest restoring a brush with a Finest knot from The Golden Nib. I made my own handle on the lathe, put this knot in, and it is ridiculous how much softer and more enjoyable it is to use than the Tweezerman.

Ditto on the Tweezerman. It was a step up for me from my VDH drugstore boar but always found it a little POKIE on my face. I just got a Semoque 1305 and tried it yesterday. Amazing difference in face feel.
