Unfortunatly the DS1 I got to try didn't do it for me, about two months ago I bought the DS2 and have been using it a lot, nice very mild but also very effective razor IMHO. For me Feather, Iridium and Personna Med blades work best in this one.
I have been using my DS1 almost exclusively for the past two years. It is without a doubt my Holy Grail razor. I use it with a Weber 3 inch handle and the Ikon baseplates when the blade mellows and I need more closeness. Unfortunately it is at Daves at Restoredrazors for replating and buffing on the Ikon parts. I will report back when its done!
My blades of choice in this razor are Shark SS, Black Indian Gillette and Treet Dura Sharp (carbon blade from Pakistan).
