i can't see me pay the high price for a president and after miss a replated aristocrat in Onotoman's shop (when i get the money it was gone) ,i get a beat up aristocrat on ebay and send it to him for replate in nickel.i'm quite happy whith the result ,it is not rodhium plated but after traveling many places this baby is now like new & looks like a president .i got a nice agressive shave with it today.thanks again to Onotoman .

Nice looking razor. But it doesn't look like a President. The President has the two small fluted rings knurled and not smooth. Like the Gold plated Diplomat. The good part of your razor is it will certainly maintain it's plating much longer then the Aristocrat's lacquer.

Chukka, that is a nice looking replated Aristocrat--I see what you mean by "false" president. I considered doing that with a user grade Aristocrat.

It is officially designated the model 5-4-43. Actually it might be better than the real thing - I find the president to be a bit mild for my taste. However the aristocrat is noticably more aggressive. I just don't like gold razors.
