Expensive birth year

How much would you pay for a birth year razor, more specifically a '79 Super Adjustable? What if it was one quarter off and you haven't seen your quarter?

I need someone to talk me out of overspending on the wrong quarter razor. It doesn't help that I haven't seen a '79 SA Z4 in the wild and i'm starting to worry.

Super adjustable razors go for a fair amount if they are in good condition.

Hold out for your proper year/quarter. Otherwise you will end up with 2 of them as you will still be looking for the right year/quarter after you buy the wrong one :001_smile

Have you posted a wanted to buy on BST? I would do this as I am sure there are several of what you are after in members shave dens.

Yeah, I've been thinking I need to head there. I got a lot of razors on ebay that I need to separate out and I was going to throw some back up on BST to recoup costs before I went after the birth year. The first to go up will probably be the single ring I posted a while ago here for identification. Just need the wife to get out her nice camera for some good pictures.

At least you can get one in your birth year. Gillette didn't make any in '89 I don't think, and the ones from '88 are pretty rare, I believe.

I had a WTB on the BST for my birth year razor ( a 4th quarter 1977 SA )

It sat forever with no responses. I finally found one in great shape on the Bay, IIRC I paid about $40 for it. But hey, it came with a free Vokshod blade. Lol.

BST is supposed to be great, but it's never worked out for me.

Putting a WTB in my sig worked out for me when I was looking for a user grade LC NEW.

Don't buy the wrong quarter. Hold out for the right one.

Post in the BST, put it in your sig, search the Bay and etsy. And be patient. It took me a year to find mine.
