Ever-Ready Restore 100T

So, I found a handle at a local antique store and I really liked the look of it. I ended up boring out the old knot and installing a black pure 22 mm badger from the Golden Nib. I think it ended up looking pretty decent. Have a gander.

very nice! That handle looks near mint.

BTW I think I'm going to have to break down and get a digital camera my pics, from a cell phone, look like a pile next to yours.

Very nice work. The knot you chose really works well with the handle. I'll bet you'll have a blast using this vintage brush.

I have the exact same handle ready for a restore

I measured and determined I would need a 20mm knot though, did you have to modify the knot or the handle to make if fit properly?

Also, how do you like the black hair?

I sanded out the inside of the handle with a dremel after a drilled it out. The original knot was a 20 mm but the black only came in 22 so I had to so a little modification.

I love the black hair. This morning was the first morning I used it, it was almost exactly the same as my B&B Essentials. A really nice workhorse of a brush.

I have really enjoyed your brush restores. I have been wanting to find an Ever-Ready here recently. Something about the solid color combos of their handles just looks right with the shapes I have seen.

Thanks for clarifying, I thought I may have measured incorrectly or something. I still haven't decided on a knot yet but hope to order it this week.

Wish me luck

Good luck. It's a fun hobby and is relatively inexpensive. Post your results. Everyone likes a good restoration thread.
