1910 Silver Orchid

I was hoping to get some feedback and suggestions on this straight razor I purchased. I was walking through my local antique store and they had this 1910 Silver Orchid straight razor that I had to have. I have no experience with SRs and have been using a Kai clone shavette.

I can't seem to find much information about this razor online but I am probably looking in the wrong places

Is this a good straight? I don't mind if this ends up being a show piece to remind me of my time here but I'd love to be able to use it.

Does this look to be in reasonable condition?

I'm certain it's going to need a refurb and would love some suggestions on who I could go through. I'm in the process of moving (US based) so it won't be for some time. I'm not sure if this is going to need a restoration or not. Pictures attached.

I am not familiar with the O.C. Company or the Silver Orchid brand. The razor is in good shape. There are small amounts of black oxide on the blade and tang, but this is inert (not active) and only cosmetic - and the edge and spine look clean. I would probably just polish the razor using metal polish like Mothers, hone the razor and use it.

That's a great looking razor and it looks to be in very good condition. I'm sure somebody polished it somewhere along its life. Scales look ok to.

Names are not overly important. Probably a customer name that Sheffield produced these razors for.

German steel, Made in GB is sign of quality to. Just needs to be honed and you should be good to go.

Thank you for the input everyone. I'm relieved it's in good condition. Wid, I'd take you up on it but I'll be on the east coast this go around.

It's probably going to be at least a month before I can even look into sending this out so I'm not in a huge rush. I'm def going to look into getting a strop before sending this out.
