I had a WTB Thread posted for a vintage restored brush. Keith (vitaman) sent me a message offering to build one for me. He said he had a few handles available and asked me to pick a knot from thegoldennib.com. I decided to go with the 20mm Grade A Silvertip and told Keith to surprise me with a handle.
The end result exceeded my expectations and I am blown away by the quality of this brush. I don't think I will have to buy another brush for a while, this one is fantastic to use. You can definitely tell he took his time, polishing the handle, and setting the knot correctly with out overdoing it with glue.
If you are looking for a beautiful restored brush for yourself, I would suggest sending him a PM. I highly recommend his work.
See below to see what he ended up making for me. I wanted to use it a couple weeks and get it a little broken in and have a nice bloom to it. This brush works well with soaps and cream, but I have mostly been face lathering.
Sorry for the low light, flash on the camera was a bit too much.
I wanted to show how it lathers a soap. I picked the one I hear the most difficulties about...Mitchell's Wool Fat.
Here's the loaded brush off the puck
And the finished product
