Ever Ready 200T Restore that was Dad's

I am in the process of getting my brother into wet shaving. I bought him an Edwin Jagger 89l that will be for Christmas and some blades(sampler). I went to his house 2 days ago and he gave me my Dad's old Ever Ready 200T that pop used for years. It was well worn out. I told him I was going to restore it for myself but am really going to try to do it for him. There are so many threads I thought it may be quicker to reach out for help with a new thread. I have drilled the old knot out but now to decide what to do next. Pennies, BB's, silicone, marine glue, etc.... too much for my mind to compute. Is it easy enough to finish or should I find a restorer and pay the extra bucks? We lost dad right before Hurricane Katrina hit at the ripe old age of 89. He was our Hero so anything of his is extra special to us and I wouldnt want to mess it up. Thanks in advance

Fill the handle with epoxy to the level you want your knot to sit. Pennies, etc make weight distribution awkward.
Epoxy adds the perfect amount of heft. Easiest way is to thoroughly mix the 2 part epoxy in a Baggie and snip off a tiny bit of the corner to squeeze it into the handle. This saves lots of mess and headache.
One step at a time. No hurry. It will turn out perfect.

Before you fill the handle, make sure the inside of the handle is clean and sanded round and smooth with no jagged edges around the top of the hole. Measure the hole (you can make it bigger with more careful sanding) and order a knot that is slightly smaller than the hole.
Take your time and think about each step. It will turn out perfect. I promise.
You doing the restoration rather than someone else will mean a lot.

I appreciate the info. I am thinking a 22mm knot will work with just a little drilling to smooth it out. 48 or 50 mm loft. should work out nicely.
