I need to get the base off of the Erskine shown below. Do any of you have any positive experience with ways that may help get it removed. It is separating from the rest of the handle and I want to re-unite the two.
This brush has a really well preserved knot that I'd like to keep. It appears to be gold colored (probably from age) boar. That leads to this ... how does one go about sterilizing old knots? I think boiling would ruin something. Can you use Barbicide on brushes?
