Erasmic has reverted back to Tallow

Read a thread on another board a couple of weeks ago. Fellow posted his correspondence with Erasmic wherein they essentially said they couldn't make the Palm Oil soap work and were re-re-formulating.

Well, this morning I was mooching around town and found, in my favourite cheapo chemist, the Erasmic stick; first ingredient listed as sodium tollowate. All their stock was the same. A few weeks ago they were all Palm Oil. And Erasmic commented that there will still be some of it around for a while, so check the label if you're after the Tallow first stuff.

I'd forgotten how much I enjoy the scent of this soap :001_cool:

Had a look around John Lewis as well. They're stocking Aqua di Parma shave cream. For £36! I was tempted, but a little rich for my blood. Noticed they also have TOBS Sandalwood without parabens. The saleswoman tried to interest me in some 'cream' she enthused was 'big in Holland' - it was like a lotion that doubled as shave cream/balm. I was suitably unimpressed but out of politeness offered to take a sample. She hurried behind the counter and returned with what looked like a brochure, but which she informed me was a sample of the various offerings of this famous Dutch alchemist. It could be mine for just £2.50. I politely moved along and ogled the gorgeous Kent shaving mugs.

Wow, this is excellent news. I'm suffering through a tube of the non-tallow right now, so I hope they change the cream as well.

I have just tried the john lewis own brand shaving soap, and for £2.50 its rather good!

Could this be a small turn in the fight against reformulated tallow-less soaps? I certainly hope so...
Could be! Maybe we should all write to the other soap makers who've taken it out and point them toward Erasmic's example.

Don't think the cream has changed. Suffering through it? That's my favourite budget cream! And its rarer than rubies recently.

It is. There's some speculation its made by Culmak and may be identical to that soap.
Is this a UK-only availability thing, or is it available over here in the colonies?
I'm sure vendors will stock it. However it may take a little while; it's only recently found its way back to UK shops.
