What's new

Endymion

I got a set of tires on my car today. I arrived at the tire shop at about 8 am and went in expecting the usual "new tyre" smell. While it was present, the more notable and unmistakable smell was Endymion effusing from the salesman. I felt much better about handing over the money knowing that at least some of it will be put to good use.

Surprising that a guy working at a tire shop would be wearing Endymion, but I guess that's just a stereotype in my mind.

I love Endymion EDC. It's very potent, though, and it lasts forever. I put on one spray at about 7 am and I can still smell it at 9 or 10 pm!

I wonder if it might have been something else...

I once got the best fragrance compliment of my life from a girl that was fitting me for a suit. She took a deep and obvious inhale, and after sighing in pleasure, said, "What IS that fragrance you're wearing?! I thought I recognized it at first, but then I realized it was something even better!"

And I do think there are a few designer scents out there that might be mistaken for Endymion. Lanvin Arepege comes to mind. And the very first time I smelled Endymion, it DID sort of remind me of something else that was very popular, but that I can't put my finger on.

There aren't many places to buy Penhaligons. Some fancy malls have them in their Saks, and I'm sure there are a few standalone stores in the U.S., but unless this tire guy was a fragrance collector, I doubt he would have come upon something as rare as Endymion. (Then again, I am just a lowly student my own damn self, so who knows?!)
