EJ DE89L/Muhle R89 Handles

Am considering an EJ DE89L razor, but am slightly confused from reading several posts about them. Is the DE89L handle solid or hollow? Is the Muhle R89 handle solid or hollow? If hollow, do either of them open to allow adding weights? My concern is two-fold; balance and how easily they may become dented. I do understand that different handles are available that would fit the DE89L, but would rather avoid that if possible. Thanks for any info.

The EJ is solid. It's a great little razor. I've got the 89, the unlined chrome version, and I can't see there being a difference between it and the lined version. The false ebony and ivory versions are hollow, and much lighter.
