DRH or AoS?

If DRH and AoS were the same price starting today, (say...$40 for soap+bowl and $20 for refills) which would you choose?

AoS pre or post-reformulation? If we're talking pre-reformulation, AoS all day long. Now, not so sure. I really like DR Harris but I REALLY REALLY LIKE AoS.

Do you know what has changed from pre to post reformulation for AoS? So you would rank the post reformulation on par with DRH?

This, in a cakewalk. No disrespect to D.R. Harris. I have/had three of their soaps and thee of the AOS tallow soaps. Harris is very good/great. AOS is great+.

Cheers, Todd

Since the previous formula is no longer readily accessible (I assume), how would you rate the new formula to DRH?

i also vote for AOS. some of the best soap I've used. I do have a reformulated puck of sandalwood but I have not tried it. There's a thread where someone said they are not that much different. Even if it is very different, I'm lucky (because I'm hoarder) to have 8 pucks of the tallow stuff.

Harris soaps are my favorite of the UK soaps (better than the 3 T's).

That's a tough question. I think I would give the edge to pre-formulation AoS. I would take D.R. Harris after reformulated AoS however.

I love DRH, but I personally would put both formulations of AOS above it. That being said, DRH is miles ahead of the 3Ts, and its a very solid and respectable performer in my den.

AOS's old formula was perhaps the best soap I've ever used. If given the opportunity to purchase that formula versus DRH I'd choose AOS, though DRH does have more varied fragrances - Windsor and Marlborough are really nice. I guess I can't speak to the current AOS formulation. Apologies for not being more helpful.:001_unsur

tallow AOS sandalwood is the heavyweight champ- too bad it's down for the count.

i might give DRH the slight nod over the current AOS formulation given the range of scents, which are very nice. the new AOS still lathers very well, but something in it irritates my face a bit, never had any issues with the Valobra formula.

AOS is just not worth the price. Too pretentious and snobby for me. DRH and TOBS are worth the price. AOS haters unite!
