Dreadnought Blades Made by Kai?

I tried some Dreadnought blades last week and really liked them. They were very sharp and gave me a great smooth shave.

I just got in some Kai blades and I was struck by how both blades resembled each other so much. Neither had any markings whatsoever and the metal of both blades had the same hue and "look." I wonder if Dreadnought makes their own blades or if they are made by Kai?

Does anyone out there know?

Thanks,

EZ

To be blunt, I doubt those gents make anything except money. They are basically a marketing outfit: see http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/337068-Dreadnought-razor-blades?p=4953252#post4953252 for my long-winded rant on the subject.

Anyway if you say the blades look like Kais, I can believe that. But it seems like an expensive way to go, because both blades retail around $6 for 10. Usually companies that do rebranding add a hefty markup of their own, because somebody has to pay for their vacation homes. Take the "Spartan" razor: an Edwin Jagger DE89 with a different logo - sold at over twice the price. The rest of their products probably carry a similar markup. Because of that markup, my guess is they rebrand a blade that normally retails around $3 per 10, or less. Maybe much less.

I wonder what the Dreadnought blades would really be. I'm guessing Merkur or something EMEA based but I could be wrong. I concur with mblakele they're probably not Kais. And even Merkurs are expensive so Dorcos or something lower cost might be the answer.
