Posted an update on my hair loss thread but figured this could use its own attention. Had my silvertip brush that I got with my merkur 38c and stand in a set. It always shed hairs but has gotten progressively worse. Finally contacted "Anne" from Merkur as I came across the contact info on these forums. She asked for a couple pictures showing the hair loss. I sent in a couple showing two hairs coming out of the brush during face lathering as well as about 6 more that I found while shaving and placed on the counter. Been about a week and she just emailed asking for my shipping address so they can send a replacement. Amazing. I was ready to provide my purchase receipt at the least, and send my brush to them at the most. No other questions asked I have a replacement being sent. Just wanted to share the good news and great experience. I will either PIF a shedding brush to someone or order a tgn 2-band to set in there.

Dovo/Merkur brushes don't get a lot of press here. What brush do you have, and how do you like it? Do you have any others to compare to?

Here is the brush I got. Silvertip 22x52. I love it. It's not too floppy but extremely soft. I have since tried a rooney 1/1 in best/pure that I like also, but that made me realize HOW soft my dovo/merkur really is. I like the handle as it has a lot of heft and grip.

Also as you asked if I've tried others to compare it to....I also tried a omega silvertip that was REALLY floppy and didn't have near the backbone as this one. Didnt care for it much at all. Not sure if it was just a higher loft but the hairs were spread out all over the place as if they were trying to hang back over the handle. I got it off b/s/t and have since given it to a friend to get him started. But that's how I know this one has good backbone and isn't floppy.

That's a pretty high end set. Glad they warrantied the brush for you.

Yeah I got that before I found b/s/t and thought that I needed a new razor and brush as I would only need one forever. I love the set though and don't think ill ever get rid of it. But there have been additions 
it looks like a nice set up, now you have to finish it off with some tabac to make it a german trio
Great looking brush! I would have been disappointed as well with the shedding. Glad to hear Dovo stepped up to the plate on this one.
