Does La Toja make a soap in puck or tub form?

I've noticed that when I look for La Toja products I find cream, the shave stick, but no other soap? Que paso? l mean what happened?

Please don't tell me to grate a stick and press into a container. But why would they not sell a "regular' soap?

They did, Ted. It was the mighty La Toja Manantiales shaving soap in wooden bowl with cork cap. Unfortunately, this is no longer made and all our efforts to bring it back in production have been vain, see here.

Bravissimo, Marco! Nice try. The soap looks beautiful, and I'll bet the soap was great. Does anyone know why they would stop making it? It seems like it was very popular.

I would never suggest anyone grate a stick into a puck. The stick is an excellent form factor for face lathering. I use Speick and Arko for most shave, and save the Arlington for my Saturday "my wife is out with her sister and I have the house to myself" shave.

Don't know why not. If someone likes pucks of soap it's easy to make a stick into a puck. Although there was some argument about this, I think the consensus was that the LT stick and big tub were the same product. If so, it would be easy to get a "puck" even though it is now discontinued by grating up a stick.

I like both form factors, but a stick can come in handy when you want to take a minute off your shave or traveling. My sentence could me misread. I don't mean that I would suggest people not do this, but that the person said "don't tell me to grate a stick into a puck". So I said I wouldn't. I have gone so far, though, as suggest people try the stick form and see how they like it before grating it it, since it cannot be undone.

I bought several sticks of LT. So I could well afford to grate one into a puck. So far I have used "the puck" a lot, but not tried it in its stick form. Having just completed a nearly month-long rod trip using a shave stick (Speick). I must say that for me, the experience was OK, but at home, with time on my hands, I don't think I would normally choose to do that.
