DIY IWB Kydex for SIG 365

Making my own IWB holster for my SIG365 standby for multiple pics loading from my phone which may need some editing.

Small dowel rod taped in place to form sight rail, not sure why these loaded as thumbnails.

Kydex 0.08 sheet and heat gun.

Initial "taco" formation. Not shown was the wearing of leather gloves and use of the heat gun to bone in the shape of the pistol.

Initial forming the sight track. This had to be tweaked multiple times throughout the process. Not having a pre-made form, I made do with the edge of a 1x2 piece of wood. Consequently the sight track is a bit wombly, but functional.

Some of the excess Kydex trimmed away with tin snips.

Now that some of the polymer frame is exsposed, using aluminum foil to protect it during additional “boning” and fitting the Kydex. Damn thumbnails!

More excess kydex removed, really starting to take shape.

Pretty close to the final shape using a Dremel with a sanding drum to form the edges and smooth the contour some. There will be more finishing and touch ups before it is done. Next step is to affix leather struts to the Kydex body to which the belt clips will be attached.

I don't think I mentioned that this will be a tuckable IWB holster. Meaning you can tuck your shirt in and the only thing showing will be the belt clips and no need for a cover garment.

When boning or form fitting the Kydex to the gun, its easy to have too much retention even before adding any screws or rubber spacers for adjusting retention. I hope to finish the holster today and have it range ready for Friday.

Added a Kydex extension to mount leather strut to. Super glued to the sight rail.

Pretty much done. Will need to trim excess from belt clip once everything is adjusted.

Had to change belt clips, the black looks better, adjusted for cant and trimmed to length. Perfect!
