Am a newbie here, but 4 months DE shaving, and for years 30 yrs ago. I now have coarse beard and shave daily. Just got a Merkur 37c - Feather blade, and had a fairly close, but super comfortable, nickless shave. Surprised 37 was not closer (felt like a knife thru butter though). Not as close as my Fatip Grande, or Slim adjustible on#8 yet both can be irritating and sometime get weepers. Questions I have are : would a Merkur 39C being heavier, give a closer shave? If closer, would more nicks result? Is a Slant just not for me, and would the infamous Muhle be for me?
