DE Shave Was Getting Worse

Ive recently been switching between my DE89 and Futur every fourth shave when I replace the blade.

I was noticing that my shaves with the Futur were not as smooth as with the DE89. At first I thought it was a bad blade (have used Feathers exclusively recently) but the shave didnt improve when I changed the blade.

I was blaming technique, soap, the cold weather but didnt seem able to get the enjoyable shave that I did have with the Futur.

Last night I inspected the razor and noticed that the springs were coated with soap and not seating correctly. A good clean in warm water and I now have the shaves that I remembered with my Futur.

Thats another lesson learned. Keep the Futur spotless

Thank you for the tip. I will bear that in mind with my freshly purchased Futur, which I like very much for its consistently smooth shaves, even at the lowest setting.
