Darwin's cousin?

I never noticed how similar the case of this simple Bakelite (unbranded) DE razor is to the famed Darwin Deluxe case. Or are they both copied from some other archetypal case design?

Not exactly the same design, but close enough to provoke wonder and surprise. Seems like there must have been some similar designers on these 2 very different razors & cases.

Interesting! It does look like whoever made the Bakelite took their inspiration from the Darwin Deluxe case. Are there any markings on the Bakelite razor that indicate what country it was made in?

They're not the only one with a case like that either. Golf is one, and there is another whose name escapes me at the moment.
It probably shouldn't be surprising, considering that the shape of the safety razor is typically wider at one end than the other.

Well it looks like a Golf model although there are no markings on the razor or case that can confirm that. Golfs were made in Germany.
