How does Damascus steel do for straights?
I found an older Wostenholm that had "Damascus Steel" etched onto the blade.
It appears there's a "hamon" line on the blade right underneath the barber's notch on both sides.

Thoughts? Ideas? Decent razor?

Thats actually rust, not a hamon

I think the "Damascus" on those razors was just a marketing gimmick. That's not real Damascus, but, as Jeness says, it's a great razor. I've got a bunch of wosties and they are wonderful.

It's made out of steel from the Syrian city of Damascus; that's not a marketing gimmick.

can I argue either "crack" (which would be really weird in a near-wedge), or "rust line where it touches the scales when closed"? I'll leave the damascus argument to those with more experience. I've seen Damascus = folded / etched and I've seen Damascus = just named it for fun. Check out these:
