D.R. Harris question?

Just received a D.R. Harris Lavender Shaving Cream 150g. for Christmas. Have been using Taylor Avocado Shaving Cream and Kiss My Face.
When I opened the tub the cream was almost a putty consistency compared to the Taylor. Took out a small amount and worked up a lather in the my mug. More lather then anything else that I have tried. This is a good thing, but is it always that firm in the tub? I was expecting it to be like the Taylor. This new DE shaver just a bit surprised. :001_unsur
Thanks

I've never had a tub of DR Harris, but creams vary from tub to tub and brand to brand. Castle Forbes, for instance, is very firm and dense. And the cream in my Taylor's Sandalwood is denser than my Mr. Taylor tub, etc.

I wouldn't worry about it unless it was crusty and visibly dried out. It sounds like it's the way it's supposed to be. Enjoy! :thumbup1:

DR Harris is a very dense thing compared to most other English creams. It is still less dense than say Castle Forbes. It is neither a good nor bad thing, rather it comes down to personal preference in cream density.

Harris is one of the best companies for shave geeks. Their product line is top flight across the board. It's hard to find better creams.

DR Harris SC costs more than TOBS, but I find I can use less DR product to get the same results as TOBS. Not quite sure if it balances out costwise, but who cares. Harris creams are worth every penny.

Second the opinion of Harris being one of the best creams I've tried. You might want to scoop to the bottom of your tub, if it has a different consistency below, blend till smooth. My Harris lavender had some thicker material at the top, smoothed out nicely. Was a BIT denser then others (TOBS Trumpers) but not much.

Even creams from the same manufacturer can vary widely. Another fan of Harris products here!

Just purchased a tub of T&H Trafalgar recently, a very dense consistency compared to my T&H 1805 which is more fluid.
