So I spent Friday evening honing a few antique store razors I found. Nothing rare or awesome, but two of them were made here in Indiana, so I had to have them. Got all three of them honed up pretty well and shaved with one that night. Great shave, one of my best with a straight, in fact.
Tonight, I whipped out another I had done and proceeded to shave with it. Of course, I broke my own rule; don't change more than one variable. I have a puck of Col. Conk Bay Rum soap I hardly ever use, but I decided to use it tonight.
The shave was awful...very irritating. I'm really hoping it was the soap and not the razor. But now even a few hours later my face feels like it's on fire. Oh, and I cut myself just below my left ear, but that was just carelessness, not a fault of the razor or the soap.
Might have to go without shaving for a day or two, let the face rest.
