"Look what I found"
I’ve had this for a while but never posted any pics. It’s a 200x75 La Petite Blanche from Ol Preu. Super fast, super fine and a blast to hone on. View attachment 1053416

"Look what I found"
I have had this 10” Coti in my bag of tricks for a few years. Using it over the weekend, I finally decided to research the seller. It’s in a labeled box by A. S. Aloe of St Louis, a distributor of scientific and medical equipment. They were in business for almost 100 years before going out of business in the 1950’s. Guessing by the reflective surface of the sticker, from its post WWII years. Another name for the rock hounds to search for. A few links for the history buffs

You can buy directly from Ardennes, or the superior shave is another good option. I’ve also had luck placing a WTB in the BST.

I would reach out to ardennes directly, let them know what you are looking for (ie fast cutter, slow finisher, etc) for your razors and they will pick out a coticule of the size and specificity that you are looking for suitable for razors (make sure to let them know its for razors).

The "best" coticules I have bought have been from The Superior Shave or Beornidas on Etsy.

I have been extremely disappointed by the coticule I bought directly from Ardennes. However my experience seems to be in the minority.

Nice find from the Wednesday flea market. Don’t like guessing veins on vintage stones, but this appears to be a La Veinette by some of its characteristics. Currently measures a thick 2 x 5 x 1 1/8. Fits nicely and high in the hand. It must have been a looker in its day, someone chopped off one of its end with a hacksaw. I would’ve like to have meet this Coti before it was whacked
