CO Bigelow?

Well, I tried the CO Bigelow brand of shaving cream today. Unfortunately, I don't think it will work for me. I believe I had a small reaction with the menthol. Seemed to intensify any razor burn I had. It lathered easily. Any one recommend a cream that is easy to lather and has perhaps aloe in it?

TOBS creams should fit the bill. They're all almost effortless to lather and the only reaction I've had was with the Sandalwood. I've never reacted badly to Bigelow cream, though.

Give the Kiss My Face creams (available at most health food stores--and in many scents as well as unscented) a try. Although they're advertised as brushless, they work very well when used with a brush.

As C.O. Bigelow is made by Proraso, I would recommend trying another product from their line. Either Proraso Blue which contains Aloe and Vitamin E or Proraso White which is for those with sensitive skin...

Out in left field here but if sensitivity is an issue getting a product with minimal ingredients, especially chemical preservatives, might help. A gentle, high performance, easily lathering product is Martin de Candre. Only 6 ingredients, five not counting water. C O Bigelow has 23! A 200 gram jar of MdC could give a similar number of shaves to a near equivalent value in several tubes of C O Bigelow.

Did the elbow test as mentioned in another thread. Left a red patch. Rinsed the remaining cream off. I like the cooling effect but not the burning.

Very good choice. Proraso blue is probably my overall favorite cream. It doesn't get enough love around here, in my opinion :p

Proraso blue literally makes me nauseous. I don't know why it's smell just instantly triggers a sick feeling. Too bad considering I love the green and white stuff.
