Clean Shavers: Habits in the shower?

How do you lather, and do you rinse thoroughly between passes?

I lather on the dish/puck and face, using water after the puck as necessary. This gets me a great lather almost 100% of the time just by default.

I do rinse fairly thoroughly between passes, leaving water on my face as necessary for the lather. To my mind a full-on, thorough post-shave rinse is one of the key benefits to being a Clean Shaver.

I'm primarily a face latherer, too. I use the first lather to soften my beard--leave it on while I trim my ears (if necessary) and put the conditioner in my hair. That gets rinsed off when I rinse the fog off the mirror in preparation for the shave. Occasionally, I will make an uberlather at this time--I'm all set up to do that mid-shave in the shower, should I make that call. Apply some pre-shave oil and lather up. Sometimes I rinse between passes, other times I do not. When I decide to rinse, I typically re-apply the pre-shave oil again. I try to let the shave guide the decisions, If the pass is good and my face still feels slick and moist, I will just re-apply the lather w/o rinsing. If my face feels a bit dry, or for some reason I wasn't happy with the pass, I might rinse and re-apply oil and lather. No rules, really.

I wash my body and rinse off after the shave, so I get a thorough rinse of my face.

I've been using creams exclusively for the last few years.
My prep in the shower is a thorough wash with shampoo (I use it on my whole head, face and neck areas),
a liberal rinse and face lathering, including a nice rinse between passes.
If there are any weepers at the end, a direct blast with the shower head usually takes care of it.

Over the years, I've learned not to skimp on the water.
