For me they are on the bottom-end of acceptable in my slant. One thing you'll notice though is that the slant chews through blades a little more quickly than the more traditional DEs. Once the third shave with an RP/slant comes around, I can feel light tugging on my neck on the ATG pass. It still delivers a phenomenally close, comfortable shave though.
Also, there's something about the longevity of a slant shave that I don't get out of my other razors. My face, even given a similar degree of closeness, just stays smoother for longer after a slant shave.
I really should use mine more often.
