Cella container vs. brick

Are there any opinions regarding which Cella has a more lasting/stronger scent? The container or the brick??

I've actually been wondering about the difference between them. Are they the same product, or is one more cream than soap?

In terms of lasting/stronger scent I could not say. I bought the little red tub Cella over a year ago and transferred it to a bigger size Glade screw top container (plastic) and I also placed a sheet of plastic wrap on top of it after every use pressing out the air. The fragrance has remained fresh and strong as if it arrived new. Now in regards to the Brick and the red container being the same that has been debated on B&B and you could probably do a search to locate those threads. Many say there is a difference and that the Brick provides a more luxurious or higher quality lather than the Cella in the red tub. I think you can go to Italian Barber and buy a sample of the Brick which comes in a small white tub 125 ML. I have only tried the Cella in the red but I really do enjoy shaving with it.

Tom is correct, you can Italian Barber sells' 1/8 brick portions of Cella soap in a plastic tub for reasonable prices. However, Italian Barber's site is showing that Cella 1 Kg. bricks are out of stock until next week. The 125 ml. 1/8 brick tubs are just showing out of stock.

I've used the red tub and like it very much. unlike Matt I found the undissipated scent to be too strong. Once it aired out, I could just enjoy the great performance of this great product. I would imagine that if Cella packaged their soap in a 500 mg package such as Klar Kabinett, that they would only be limited in how fast they could ship product.

I will pick up a brick at some point in time this coming year, but can't imagine how long it will take to finish it up.

I seem to remember a thread where Marco, the king of everything Cella, gave the opinion that the brick was a somewhat superior product. However, I cannot remember why.

I would also point out that Shaving.ie has kilograms of Cella for about $25 (w/o the VAT tax).

To the OP, it would appear that they are the same scent strength initially, and both will retain it the same, if stored the same.

One thing to notice about Cella is that the scent tends to change over time with less "Almond fragrance". Same thing happening on the colour, which gets a bit darker. But no worries, all this is natural and normal.

Since you have chimed in, Marco, do you have any source for a good container to store the chunks taken from the kilo brick in? Seems not easy to find a good sized container that will work and seal well.

I have used both. I purchased my first tub & brick samples thru Garry's SS. I loved the Cella so much that I purchased a tub. Only AFTER did I notice that (I believe) the brick had a stronger all day lasting scent.

I like using the Magnetic Grundtal that you buy at IKEA which are stainless steel with a magnet on the bottom. They come in sets of 3 for $4.99 at least when I bought mine. I need to get some more. They also sale a metal strip that you can hang on the wall then just stick the Grundtal on them it works great. $100_1205.jpg

Grundtal containers are awesome. I grated pretty much all my soaps into those. I got the white metal board from Ikea to stick them to. Perfekt size, holds approx 150g of soap and are ideal in diameter to load the brush.
