And since the OP mentioned Cella I also suggest another great Almond scented Italian soft soap that rinses and performs beautifully: Tcheon Fung Sing Crema Purissima Per Barba.Yes, Martin de Candre.

Rinse? 9 times out of ten I just wipe my face off with a towel and go about my day. In fact, my barber does it that way ten times out of ten. Been doing it that way for years and my face hasn't fallen off yet!
I'm so glad I wasn't imagining this! Thanks for the recs. May I ask what soaps didn't make the cut as I start my search? I'd like to cross them off the list!
I've heard that too but in this case it doesn't bother me much. The less gloss and shine on the head the better! You’re welcome!
If you search on MdC you will find that many people find it drying. That feeling for me leaves me feeling clean and fresh so it is right up my alley!
Interesting. I was thinking this might be a tallow vs. non-tallow thing. Then I wasn't sure as I saw SV 4.3 was also difficult to rinse. Maybe the coconut oil is a good starting place but there is more to the story since SV also contains it.MdC, or any good quality pure coconut oil soap.
Superfat from the initial soponification and what oils are added later in the process. Basically how much and what fat is actually in the soap itself, rather than what went into the recipe. Stearic acid is probably more persistent in the sink than others, but I don't think it would be especially desirable to have unsoponified palmitic acid in your sink either. Lighter oils like oleic acid are going to be easier to wipe off.Interesting. I was thinking this might be a tallow vs. non-tallow thing. Tcheon Fung Sing Crema Purissima
Gentlemen - thank you! What a nice surprise to see that there is an option for an almond scented Italian soft soap as this is one of my favorite styles of soap and scent. Is the soap in the red tub the same as the kilo? I am assuming yes but I know there is some debate regarding the Cella kilo and the Cella red tub.And since the OP mentioned Cella I also suggest another great Almond scented Italian soft soap that rinses and performs beautifully: Tcheon Fung Sing Crema Purissima Per Barba.
nice lather! look a the gloss! This is the stickiest shave soap that I have ever encountered:
wow, MDC is highly recommended in this post
I was actually surprised to see so much consensus as well!!!FTFY![]()

I have not purchased a kilo, but, I presume it is the same soap. @Marco is the most reliable source of information on Italian soaps here on B&B. The TFS Crema Purissima is often referred to as "Ciotola Rossa" because of the red bowl.Gentlemen - thank you! My Cella red tub was definitely darker/more yellow than my kilo and it did smell slightly sweeter (not offensive like yours) so I am inclined to think that with regards to Cella, they are different.I have not purchased a kilo, but, I presume it is the same soap. @Marco is the most reliable source of information on Italian soaps here on B&B. I, for one, do not think the wee red tubs of Cella are the same as the kilo. I love Cella in kilos, but have had bad luck with the tubs. I suspect the tubs I purchased were old; the color wasn't the same and the smell was rather unpleasant.
FWIW, Vitos Extra Super Coco is (to me) much better than Cella. You can also get it in kilos, but, it is a tallow soap.

Proraso definitely has a white film effect on my gear and sink. Same with everything from Goodfellas Smile.I can see that with SV but wasn't expecting it with Proraso. Thank you again!
I think this is a dead ringer answer. +1Superfat from the initial soponification and what oils are added later in the process. Yes, TFS in the red bowl and kilo brick are the same soap. As always I suggest buying the red bowl first and, if you like it, you can consider the kilo brick afterwards. This magnificent soap performance-wise deserves a full 10/10 in my book and scent-wise it's the most delicious almond/amaretto fragrance of them all, IMHO.I have not purchased a kilo, but, I presume it is the same soap. @Marco is the most reliable source of information on Italian soaps here on B&B.
