Four more items up for grabs as I continue to pare down my collection. Some nice ones today; I just don’t use them anymore. Better to have them go to a good home. Descriptions and prices are in this post, and pics are in subsequent posts. For CONUS buyers only, please add $5 to the listed prices for shipping. Non-CONUS people; if you really want one of these, PM me. You would have to pay the listed price plus actual shipping cost.
1) Cased Probak open comb razor. The case is beat up, but the razor is in pretty good shape. Shaves wonderfully. Milder than one would expect by looking at it. A good daily driver but just as good for 2-3 days’ growth. $30
2) Brazilian-made Superspeed. Date code N2. I guess you’d call this one a “non-flare tip” Superspeed, as the handle doesn’t flare at all. The handle knurling is thus different from any of the American Superspeeds. It is missing one end-cap, and the doors are a little lazy (but they open fully without a problem and they close tightly). Shaves the same as an American 60s flare-tip. Not sure if the case even belongs to it or not, and you can have the case or not (your choice) if you buy the razor. $25 for the razor, $5 for the case; $27 for both of them together.
3) Minty black-handled Superspeed. This one is NOT NOS, but it is as clean an example as I have ever seen. There may be one or two tiny white spots on the black handle but they are hard to see. The doors are shiny like new. Open and close perfectly, shaves smoothly. A really great example of a late Superspeed (date code W2, like your payment documentation). Hard to find one as clean as this. $30
4) Vintage Merkur travel slant in its box. Not entirely sure, but would guess this one is from the 1970s, maybe? The box is tiny, but the handle is two pieces and when you put it all together, it is not as small as you might think. The chrome on this one is generally in very good condition; the head is shiny. The handle is supposed to look white like that. Great shaver. Shaves exactly like a modern 37C, although with the travel handle the razor is obviously lighter. The head can be used with any handle (standard threads). There is some wear on the bottom where aftermarket handles have been used, but the overall condition is very good to excellent. The box is nice and shiny and the clasp locks and opens properly. A very nice example of a classic travel slant. $70
