cartridge sharpening does it work?

They don't work. In order to sharpen the blades, it would be necessary to be able to contact both sides of the blade.

From what I've heard they'll help extend the life of cratridges, but there's nothing that can keep them sharp forever.

Cloth stropping (I use a T-shirt) gives me a few extra shaves out of a Dollar General Atra cartridge. I've never tried on of these new-fangled gadgets.

Are people today really so ignorant as to think this stuff works?
P.T. Barnum really was right when he said a sucker was born every minute.
Come on people, think with the brain that God gave you.

If these things really worked, don't you think that Gillette would be dropping the price on their outrageously priced cartridges because people didn't need to buy so many now that we have the new fangled sharpening machine?

They went through the same crap when DE blades were sold with all of the "stropping" equipment and inventions that didn't do a damn thing either.

In a word Phil, yes!:001_tongu

Also, people forget that the business model is one of a disposable blade. Has been since Gillette formed the company. I think part of why the fusion blades are so bad is that they have perfected making the steel of poor enough quality to ensure they can't be sharpened! That was the balancing act with DE's have a good blade, that pleases the customer that will be guaranteed to die at some point. Back when there were several companies making blades, quality mattered. Proprietary shaving systems make it so once the company has your loyalty, all they have to care about is making a marginally passable product that will guarantee a continual revenue stream.

did you notice the guy in the video almost cut his fingers about 3 times trying to load that thing!:scared:

i will stick to paying $0.15 a piece and tossing them after i am done

I did notice that. I cringed when I saw he was holding the blade by the sharpened edges to load it, and then he dropped it, and had to start over again. :scared::scared:

No way is it worth multiple deep cuts to your fingers to save .10-40 cents.
