Buttero Leather? Anyone made a strop out of it?

I've googled it and used the search function but I wanted to ask if anyone has made a strop out of buttero. There is a small shop here called Tanzo in Seoul that makes leather products and they said they would be up to the task. Asking anyone who has any experience with using this leather or any arguments against it. Thanks!

I had to goole it. It looks like it is mostly used for shoes. What's the surface feel like?

I'm going to test it again but its firm, but I was told it will soften over time ( I think that's what they said, my Korean isn't native).
They make a bunch of other products also like notebooks, pen cases, bags and so on with that leather. Granted it isn't cheap but if the leather is worth it, might as well get one customized for me.

Here's the website http://tanzo.co.kr/front/php/product.php?product_no=330&main_cate_no=25&display_group=1 . On this page they demostrate how it does with scratches. It's italian vegetable tanned leather FWIW.

Sounds like it might be similar to English Bridle. I had an EB strop for while, was never too fond of it... But there is only one way to be sure. Make a strop, and see how it goes.

It'll be around the price of a Kanayama... maybe I'll just get one of those instead of taking the risk.

I just looked at the spelling again and I guess I need glasses. I thought it said buffalo when I posted SO I have now removed my original post....Doh!
