Hi chaps ive just won this on ebay and have no idea about it! Placed a lowest bid and it won. Now seeing as this is older than me can any of our respected members shed any light on it history scent etc

I saw that too, dug around a little and came up with nothing I'm afraid.

On the other hand... todays eBay score - HERE. Wrong forum I know but I do have the aftershave... all I need now is they soap

Thanks for the reply theres another burley set on there for 50 quid which sounds a bit strong for an aftershave kit. For a quid im happy even if it ends up as lighter fluid for the fire! Lovely looking mug i like the quirky 2 finger handle very old school. The aramis soap always seems to pop up on the bay if i see it i'll shoot a pm over.

There is a local market near me, and on the market a sort of perfumery stall, he sells burley, now i am not saying its the same a/s, but there must be a conection, perhaps the new one is pants

here's a thread about a decanter of Burley AS I found a while back. OS Burley Decanter

I have Burley AS and cologne - and use them. They are quite Tabac-ish - but not the harsh metallic note from the modern Tabac AS/cologne. (I may be the only one who gets that. Makes my eyes water.)

Really - great find. I have a little bottle just like yours (as well as the AS/Cologne set.)

I saw bottles of Burley quite a bit in department stores in Tokyo this summer. While the bottles are not exactly the same as this, they are the same general shape and the type on the label is similar. As far as I can tell, this is not OS Burley, but a separate creature altogether. I saw both AS and Cologne in regular and lime. It's made in Japan by Dial--maybe it's kind of Pinaud in the US or Shulton in India. A lone remnant of a once more widespread brand.

What appears to be the original fragrance gets a barebones mention on Basenotes.

The regular cologne that I smelled in the store lines up with the notes listed on Basenotes.
