Help I just gave my brush to a friend that was moving and don't want to go back to Gillette Foamy! I don't have alot of cash to lay out, I'm thinking $25-35 for a brush. What is my best bang for my buck? Less than $25 wouldn't be so bad either.
+1Best bang for the buck has to be an Omega or Semogue boar. If you're looking for badger, then you're taking somewhat of a risk in that price range.

What was the brush you gave away and how much did (and/or didn't) you like about it?
My first decent brush was an Omega Pro (the 10098), which sells on the West Coast Shaving site for under $12 and some change. It's a terrific brush. The Vie-Long horse-hair suggestion is a good one. I find mine to be a little scritchy.
I loved the brush it was a synthetic Omega that performed very well though it was soft. Our best friends just moved and I though what better gift to give than giving away something that I will truly miss and possibly turn him into one of us.
I also gave him a Parker long handled TTO razor that became my everyday razor. now I'm kinda just scraping along till I can replace my hardware.
You're a good man.
+1 IMHO, Horsehair brushes are greatly under appreciated.Vie-Long natural brown horse PB-04312, $23.00 depending... And a good performer. Horse is under appreciated and often over looked when seeking a bang for your buck brush. For a few more $ Vie-Long has some other nice choices.
