Broken R41 cap/threads

This is a pic of the cap of my old R41, the one I shaved with more than any other razor.

It broke, already many years ago. Might sent me a free replacement, kudos for that. To be precise, the thread or cap itself never breaks. It's the connection between the two. So if the threads are zamac or brass, IMO it doesn't matter that much. For this to happen it's enough to regularly over tighten the handle, something I am guilty of. The chrome coating gets damaged and water dissolves the connection between cap and thread.

I had one that exactly this happened to. I didn't like or use the razor
enough to try and replace it.

It never felt like I was over tightening it at the time but perhapd I was. In fairness I'm clamping down a razor blade in a super efficient open comb DE here...maybe I did give it a bit too much mustard tightening up...

Sorry guys, I wrote this on my phone and "might sent me a replacement" was supposed to mean MÜHLE. They have excellent service. They even went all out in an effort to help an English customer, but outside of Europe many also made rather opposite customer service experiences.

It looks like a clean enough break that you can glue it back into place with epoxy or superglue. I used superglue on a Merkur 23c after a fall broke the joint between the cap and the post.
